New Blocks, Sawing Wood & Seedless Apples

Today we made room for our new blocks...


we learned about saws 



we were all able to examine and touch one







I modeled how to saw a tree



some morning reading


we discussed instruments that are made of wood




we read about tress and discussed what life would be like without trees


we went oustide





we examined a water logged branch


we had some center time



we sawed a branch

we wanted to plant apple seeds...



we were surprised to see our apples had no seeds

Books, Sorting & Folding

This morning we found a book to take home we write we sort our laundry we are learning how to fold we put our clothes in the correct baskets we learn how to hang things folding...not as hard as it looks some shape construction and recognition spatial concepts = inside or outside gross motor time we were busy in the afternoon we added paint to our drawings we continued to work on our literacy skills we worked on 1 to  correspondence  we persisted we put together a dance floor in the library we found our pictures we used sponged to paint we used plans to build we read with Ms Sutherland we moved pine cones with our trucks we made bubbles and washed clothes we watched a video of Miss Nelson is Missing have a great weekend

Beanbags, Shapes & Planting

We had another morning in the library.  Today we played a beanbag matching game we always spend time with books we had a fire drill we saw a butterfly we continued planting... we formed shapes we built a village the mural work continues stacking, estimating & predicting.
